Happy almost Saint Patty’s Day! To celebrate I have been enjoying this Green Probiotic Snack Smoothie. It only contains 3 ingredients and is a great way to get in your a source of probiotics and help meet your fruit and vegetable goals.
Besides my love of siggi’s yogurt my new favorite afternoon snack is their drinkable yogurts. They are an easy way to get in my daily dose of probiotics especially on those days when I need something easy. Siggi’s drinkable yogurts are similar to Kefir in that they are packed with probiotics. Probiotics are active cultures that help change or repopulate intestinal bacteria to balance gut flora. This functional component may boost immunity and overall health, especially gastrointestinal health. Prebiotics are non-digestible food components that help “feed” probiotics and promote the growth of helpful bacteria in gut. Under-ripe bananas are a perfect example of a prebiotic.
- 1 cup siggis vanilla non-fat drinkable yogurt
- 1 frozen banana
- 1.5-2 ounce frozen spinach OR 1-2 cups fresh spinach
- Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth
